Grants and Funding

The Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo supports the well-being of residents through the Community Investment Program (CIP). CIP grants support social, cultural, and recreational programs, amateur sport, artist development and the strategic priorities of the RMWB Strategic Plan.

CIP grant funding announced

The 2026 Community Impact Grant, Community Sustaining Grant, Community Capital Grant, and Games Legacy Grant funding was announced on Dec. 19, 2025.

Following interim budget approval, the Community Investment Program Approval Committee (CIPAC) met on Dec. 13 to review all eligible CIP applications for the Community Capital Grant, Community Impact Grants and Community Sustaining Grant. CIPAC approved 44 grant applications and allocated a total of $7.5 million in grant funding.

Every year, the Community Investment Program provides grant funding to help non-profit organizations deliver community programs, projects and events. The program also supports individual athletes or groups in amateur sport development, competing at a provincial, national or international level. Grant applications can be submitted in the fall for the upcoming year.
